About

I have devoted my thirty-year career to the craft of copyediting and proofreading. I help fiction and nonfiction writers—bestselling and indie authors alike—put the final touch on their manuscripts so they can confidently put their work out into the world.

Meaningful experience. As a generalist, I enjoy and have vast experience in both fiction (literary, historical, women's, thriller, romance, young adult, children’s) and nonfiction (travel, health, cooking, memoir, investigative). My background in book promotions, public relations, marketing, and in-house project management informs my collaborative relationship with valued clients, including book and magazine publishers, book packagers, indie authors, health care providers, and nonprofits.

Reasonable rates. I find creative ways to work within each client’s budget; my fees generally fall in the mid-range of the Editorial Freelancers Association rate chart: https://www.the-efa.org/rates/#ratechart. Use the Contact Me form for more info about rates and services.

Advanced training. I received a degree in Communication/Journalism from Seattle Pacific University, a Certificate in Editing from the University of Washington, and AI training via Erin Servais’s AI For Editors course.

Northwest Editors Guild. I value and have supported this amazing network of editors by serving on the executive committee, 2023 Red Pencil planning committee, and mentoring program.

Refreshing pauses. On a personal note, I live near the Puget Sound in Northwest Washington, where I pursue joys like gardening, wine tasting, walking my jaunty lil Dachshund, and reading—naturally!—histories, biographies, and memoirs.
