Three levels of service.
Proofreading
A light word-by-word reading
I will review grammar, spelling, punctuation, capitalization, hyphenation, pagination, and overall consistency and clarity to make sure your manuscript is error-free. Maintaining your unique style and voice is my highest priority! Who is it for? This level of review is best for writers who’ve already worked with a developmental editor, copyeditor, and/or beta readers and are preparing to either self-publish or submit their manuscript to a literary agent.
Copyediting
A gentle yet thorough review focused on mechanics
In addition to proofreading, I will address sentence structure, transitions, and repetition. I will also provide light fact-checking, a story timeline (for narrative nonfiction and fiction), and a style sheet. Who is it for? Writers who’ve already worked with a developmental editor and/or beta readers but aren’t quite ready for proofreading will benefit by working with a copyeditor.
Line Editing
A paragraph-by-paragraph review focused on flow
In addition to proofreading and copyediting, I will help you shape your manuscript into its final form, suggesting where to reorder, rewrite, or trim paragraphs and sentences to improve continuity and flow. Who is it for? Experienced writers who are comfortable with self-editing will benefit from working with a line editor.
